ABOUT
Derek is currently available for half day or full day mediations, and also for one day or multi-day arbitrations. Derek practiced law for almost 25 years working mostly as a long-term care and medical malpractice defense attorney in Florida and Pennsylvania. Derek helped found the McCumber Daniels law firm in 2003 where he worked until retiring from litigation in July 2019. Derek's good nature, objectivity, and experience make him well suited to help resolve any type of dispute.
EXPERIENCE
As a trial lawyer, Derek mediated hundreds of cases and always found the process beneficial, even when a case did not settle. In July 2021, Derek attained Board Certification as a Circuit Civil Mediator and has mediated many kinds of high exposure cases. Derek has also handled numerous non-binding and binding arbitrations and looks forward to serving in this capacity as well.​​​​​​​
